Without knowing the implementation you couldn't know whether a component is
thread safe or not. But I do happen to know. And I like my code to reflect that
knowledge instead of misleading the reader of the code into thinking it is
actually important to release. 

I believe that understanding always educates the user better than giving them an
enumeration of rules of thumb.

That having said. I am not adamant about it, and if someone where to change my
code because they feel differently I wouldn't stop them.
