Open source is about choice, as you can read in many places.

There is no need to eliminate one or the other - but there is a need in 
(concise, to the point) documentation. If this issue is serious (and I'm 
not sure that it actually is), you can simply reflect this in xconf, so 
people can make informative decision when they are choosing compiler of 
their choice (some people need classpath-less compilation, but some 
might prefer compact code).

btw, pizza also has some kind of issue which affects some users. But I 
don't remember the details.
