Don't know - I haven't entered this :)
I plan to make it extensible in two directions:
- adding own tag libraries
- extending the object model that can be used within the template (context)

I'm currently in the process of rewriting the JXTemplateGenerator. As soon as 
this is finished I will look how the other things can fit in there, like e.g. 
Garbage.
Hopefully we end up with one "template processor" where you can extend the 
object model, a general "template parser" and perhaps different components 
(generators: jxtemplate, garbage) using these components.
That's the basic idea I want to implement in the next two weeks.
