Sorry my mistake. It doesn't look like this is still necessary. I misread the
code. I believe cocoon.request.name doesn't work because 'name' is a variable
not the name of a request parameter. So the patch should most likely be

EITHER

-  return parseFloat(cocoon.request.name);
+  return parseFloat(cocoon.request.getParameter(name));

OR

-  return parseFloat(cocoon.request.name);
+  return parseFloat(eval("cocoon.request." + name));
