 From cocoon.roles:

  <role name="org.apache.excalibur.source.SourceFactorySelector"
        shorthand="source-factories"

default-class="org.apache.avalon.excalibur.component.ExcaliburComponentSelector"/>

Role "org.apache.excalibur.source.SourceFactorySelector" is implemented
by class
org.apache.avalon.excalibur.component.ExcaliburComponentSelector. There
is no such class as "org.apache.excalibur.source.SourceFactorySelector",
this is just role name.

And see also cocoon.xconf, <source-factories/> tag. That's where this
selector is created.
