Hi David,

Take a look at http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=16718, 
that use one connection for all queries in the SQLTransformer. We use 
the patch for all our production systems since a couple of mounths 
without any problems, so it seem to be stable.
