As you noticed, xsp.xsl has proper encoding in place. So workaround (without
modifying esql.xsp) should to be similar to:

<xsp:logic>
String s = "";
</xsp:logic>
<esql:query><xsp:expr>"INSERT INTO data (id, name, value) VALUES ('2', 'imie',
'" + s + "')"</xsp:expr></esql:query>

(idea being here: use escaping code of xsp.xsl). If you have tried changing
esql.xsp, and it works for you, you can post a patch to this bug and it will get
applied (eventually). Thanks.
