regexp matcher fails on certain patterns

as far as i understand the sitemap processor tries to
resolve the {N} expressions,

thus to pass {N} as-is to the regexp matcher we would have to define
some escape sequence like \{N\} making the sitemap processor,
resoloving it to plain {N}, 
and not trying to look up {N} in its internal object map.
