This is a problem of XSLTC which is now the default XSLT-Engine. I have upgrade
to the new version which is shipped with Xalan 2.4.1 and it works.
May be a comitter can upgrade Xalan and Xerces to the current versions (2.4.1
and 2.2.0). It seems to work on my machine, I only had to remember that I had to
change Tomcat's "xercesImpl.jar" too.

The catalog-demo sample in 2.1 was working recently.
Now it is broken by some external event. The page
generation breaks after the first few lines
when it reaches a <link> element in the source.
http://localhost:8080/cocoon/samples/misc/catalog-demo

I cannot find any issue in the logfiles about this.
The only solution is to comment-out the <link> element
in samples/misc/catalog/catalog-demo.xml

The main questions are why would this suddenly break
and what else is broken?

Any clues? I note that 2.0.3 sample still works and it
uses the same XML content and stylesheet.
