The same problem shows up in Forrest. To replicate in the sample webapp, add a
parameter like this:
<map:parameter name="twoparams" value="{request:userPrincipal} and {0}"/>

then reload, edit the sitemap, reload again and watch it die.

I can confirm that Sam's patch works, only it is inverted. Attached is a correct
version.
