Well, the situation for Java on FreeBSD is a bit sad. The best 
results I can get is running the Blackdown Linux JDK 1.2.2 with linux 
emulation turned on in the FreeBSD Kernel. I've tried Sun's 1.3.1 and 
1.4 for linux but these both take 100% of cpu and don't complete the 
startup process of Tomcat, so I'm not sure what's wrong there but 
some sort of incompatility.

This is not to say that there is a 1.3 or 1.4 JVM our there somewhere 
that will run just fine on FreeBSD... if there is one, please let me
