Expires was implemented in CVS HEAD version, but I don't think it has 
been thouroughly tested (apart from me, but I'm really short of time 
ATM). The syntax is explained in the thread you are citing. However, 
it's meant for quite the opposite need: the normal behaviour of the 
servlet container (at least Tomcat) is to serve the resources with an 
expired header so that they are not cached. The idea is to set the 
expires header manually so that it goes forward in time. Your problem is 
elsewhere, and so the solution...
