NoValidConnectionException for Oracle JDBC Class

------- Additional Comments From pdgilligan@oyap.net  2002-05-17 15:43 -------
Have tested host JDBC + JDK with this:

import java.sql.*;

class Topic
{
  public static void main (String args [])
       throws SQLException
  {
    // Load the Oracle JDBC driver
    DriverManager.registerDriver(new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver());

    String url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@213.253.43.227:1521:od1";
    String userName = "oyap";
    String password = "0y4p2k1";

    Connection conn =
      DriverManager.getConnection (url, userName, password);

    // Create a Statement
    Statement stmt = conn.createStatement ();

    ResultSet rset = stmt.executeQuery ("select * from nmd_topic");

    // Iterate through the result and print the employee names
    while (rset.next ())
      System.out.println (rset.getString (2));
  }
}
