Nothing related to JAXP, but maybe would help you to go a little further
when you solve those parser problems:

I've never used JSP in Cocoon with anything except Tomcat 3.x, 4.x. Usually,
it required to copy jasper-compiler.jar to cocoon/WEB-INF/lib directory to
get it running.
