Comparing Cocoon with J2EE or .NET is like comparing apples with oranges
as J2EE/.NET is another level than Cocoon in my opinion. We should make
the position of Cocoon (presentational layer) relative to J2EE/.NET
(application/logic layer) clear for anyone.

Making a "Pet Shop" sample explicitly independent of the application
layer (via SOAP, etc), showing how to support J2EE/.NET/something
homebrewed should

- give Cocoon more visibility, thus more feedback,
- provide anyone with a decent sample how to harvest the powers Cocoon
in a real life environment ;) and
- keep us out of any architectural war that is not our own.

The questions left are whether this is sufficiently needed and if there
is enough volunteer capacity available to "scratch the itch".

Best regards,
