While we are on the subject of sitemap design, did you read my response
to your initial post on "Retuning Sitemap Design?".

and background="" attributes (according to the code).

I will attempt to add in explicit xlink:href="" attributes, and see
if that gets me anywhere.

I am using the src/href attributes in the default namespace, but it
still doesn't work.
