Stefano, I agreed with everything you wrote except for this.

I see a Matcher kind of like a massive SELECT architecture.  While it is
more correct for a construct like this to have a definite break point,
it should not limit you.  For example:

select (foo)
{
     case TEST1:
         // do stuff
         break;

     case TEST2:
         // fall through
     case TEST3:
         // do stuff
         break;
}

Granted it is more complicated that that in real life--however, the concept is
similar.
