:) best way would be to enclose any 'getLogger()...()' statements into

   if (getLogger().is....Enabled()) {
       getLogger()....();
   }

and then raise the log level up to FATAL_ERROR

This way no much cpu cycles are spent on creating StringBuffers for the
logging message and I don't think we ahve much logging on FATAL_ERROR
lavel.
