StreamGenerator does not preserve XML encoding PI

Summary: StreamGenerator does not preserve XML encoding PI
           Product: Cocoon 2
           Version: 2.0rc1
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows NT/2K
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: sitemap components
        AssignedTo: cocoon-dev@xml.apache.org
        ReportedBy: christophe.avare@free.fr

You can test this with the Order form:
http://localhost:8080/cocoon/Order
and pasting into the form an XML document with a non default encoding.
The response will always be an XML doc with encoding="UTF-8", losing the
original charset.
This is very annoying with international language documents.

Starting some investigation as soon as my CVS client is up and running.
