There is a bug in Xalan's org.xml.sax.helpers.AttributesImpl class. It was fixed in Xerces 1.3.1, but Xalan is before Xerces in the C2 classpath and it still uses the old class. (I don't understand why do they include the same packages org.xml.*). It results in that first i18n sample gives a NullPointerException and the second one works incorrectly. Renaming xerces.jar to a_xerces.jar solves the problem, but it's not a good solution for C2 distro, isn't it? Maybe somebody could post this bug to Xalan developers?
