I don't know yet. The problem might be in JServ, Cocoon or both. I'm a bit 
busy right now but I'll look into it at some point.

Last time I tried to debug this (with Tomcat 3.1, which has a similar 
problem) it looked like the problem was in mod-jserv, which is written in C, 
but I don't really know C. If you have any C programmers in your 
organisation maybe they could take a look at the problem. Or you could 
contact the JServ or the Tomcat developers.
