Subject [PATCH] please use diff -u when posting patches

Thanks to everybody that posted patches so far! It's just great that we have so
many people not only using, but also fixing problems.

However, would you please pass the -u option to diff when you generate a patch?

The generated patch using -u (called unified diff) is more human readable as it
provides the context of where the changes in the source code are. In addition
to this, the unidiff format produced by -u produces more robust patches, in the
sense that the patch will still apply even if the source file has been modified
in the meantime.

You should keep in mind that your patches need to be reviewed by other people
before being applied. You make the whole process a lot easier if the patches
are readable.
