+1 to this.  The next version of Xalan is supposed to be targetting
Xerces 1.1.1, so it doesn't make any sense to check-in 1.0.4 (and the
current
released version of Xalan doesn't entirely work with either of them,
anyway).

Also +1 to no jars.  :)
