I suspect you would use an EMBED tag ....

	<embed src="niclas.svg"  
		width="500" 
		height="260"
		pluginspage="http://www.adobe.com/svg/">

I am guessing about the "pluginspage" attribute ....

There is a compression option, ".svgz" GnuZipped SVG.
