Subject progress in developing SQL taglib
Date Mon, 31 Jan 2000 02:06:00 GMT
So I figured out finally the problem with my XSP taglib and I'm actually
starting to see errors now instead of nothing at all. The current
stumbling block is now this:

      java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.w3c.dom.Node: method normalize()V
not found
              at
_home._balld._src._xml_cocoon._samples._sql._index.populateDocument(_index.java:93)
              at

              at org.apache.cocoon.Engine.handle(Engine.java:284)
              at org.apache.cocoon.Cocoon.service(Cocoon.java:145)

org.apache.jserv.JServConnection.run(JServConnection.java:197)
              at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java, Compiled Code)

hmm. Xerces-1.0.1 is at the top of my CLASSPATH. And yep, I just checked,
and org.w3c.dom.Node.normalize() is defined in that jar. Nor is it defined
in projectx's jar file. Can anyone give me a known good CLASSPATH or
Xerces build that provides this method?

<rant>Why do all these packages include their own org.w3c.dom? Why doesn't
that come in a jar of its own?</rant>

Thanks.
