Subject Customer Gateway update fails

I needed to set the pre-shared key of a Customer Gateway.
I edited the pre-shared key and clicked apply but nothing changed.
I tried several times.
I then tried using CloudMonkey but got an error message saying that the CIDR range was incorrect.
The CIDR is correct.
The only way to resolve this was to delete and recreate the Customer Gateway with the new
pre-shared key.

Has anyone else experienced this issue.
