Running CloudStack Management Server:
  v3.0.2.1
On:
  [root@cumulus management]# uname -a
  Linux cumulus.eng.citrite.net 2.6.32-220.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Dec 6 19:48:22 GMT 2011 x86_64
x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
  [root@cumulus management]#
Hypervisor :
  XenServer v6.02

Hi:

The tags field in the createServiceOffering API actually corresponds to the Storage Tags field
in the CSMS GUI. Is that intended?

Here is the API command that I executed:

./sign_and_exec_cs_api.pl -f 3 -c 'command=createServiceOffering&name=Big Instance&displaytext=Big
Instance&cpunumber=2&cpuspeed=2000&limitcpuuse=true&networkrate=2&memory=2000&tags=NS17500
r12345&response=json' -a iFl88lw1Pk6gKqUIFPN8vzZbJNsUVdYGIJKBTEXtrymcIH5UWp9VHjgnpP_zCmaucmi8XmwK75TR70z-2ayjGA
-s spSrvYbHlNBXH93nga2FVlq9cRC-l_lR4DSfBN-h7EKPTBjgvt01Ig3HmSWR7N1eipwa4bU6kxC5w8XHfgT3-w
-d 3

Here ia the JSON output:

{ "createserviceofferingresponse" : { "serviceoffering" : {"id":"42703f79-33ca-465c-9851-559f149ab505","name":"Big
Instance","displaytext":"Big Instance","cpunumber":2,"cpuspeed":2000,"memory":2000,"created":"2012-07-19T19:15:00-0700","storagetype":"shared","offerha":false,"limitcpuuse":true,"tags":"NS17500
r12345","issystem":false,"defaultuse":false,"networkrate":2} }  }

Note, the hosttags field in the createServiceOffering API displays as Host Tags in the CSMS
GUI.
I verified this but there is no evidence of it in the attached snapshot.

Please see the attached snapshot from the CSMS GUI.
