Subject [jira] [Created] (CLOUDSTACK-10115) duplicate hostname in VPC dns service
Date Sat, 21 Oct 2017 23:05:00 GMT
Pierre-Luc Dion created CLOUDSTACK-10115:
--------------------------------------------

Summary: duplicate hostname in VPC dns service
                 Key: CLOUDSTACK-10115
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-10115
             Project: CloudStack
          Issue Type: Bug
Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.)
          Components: Virtual Router
    Affects Versions: 4.10.0.0
            Reporter: Pierre-Luc Dion

in ACS 4.10.0.0 on a VPC, create a vm, destroy it create a new VM with the same name and
hostname as the first, then execute the command {dig <hostname> @<VR_IP>}} and
you will get multiple ip for the vm. this is problematic when using hostname resolution inside
a VPC where VMs has been recreated using old hostname.

This issue has been introduced by the PR: https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/pull/2082
