Subject [jira] [Created] (CLOUDSTACK-8568) Allow 'Aquire IP' to specify the wanted IP
Date Wed, 17 Jun 2015 09:02:00 GMT
Erik Weber created CLOUDSTACK-8568:
--------------------------------------

Summary: Allow 'Aquire IP' to specify the wanted IP
                 Key: CLOUDSTACK-8568
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-8568
             Project: CloudStack
          Issue Type: Improvement
Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.)
          Components: API, Management Server, UI
            Reporter: Erik Weber
            Priority: Minor

There are several reasons, as well as accidents, for why you might want to move a public IP
somewhere.

To a different network, tenant, etc.

Currently it doesn't seem possible to specify the IP you want when you do an associate / aquire
IP.

Would be great if the API, and eventually UI, allowed you to specify the IP address you want.
This should of course be checked against the availability and any other regular constraints.
