Daan Hoogland closed CLOUDSTACK-1413.
-------------------------------------

       Resolution: Won't Fix
    Fix Version/s: (was: 4.4.0)
Assignee: Daan Hoogland (was: Hugo Trippaers)

http://git-scm.com/book/en/Customizing-Git-Git-Attributes#Keyword-Expansion
could be used for this, but it is cludgy and doesn't add much value. good version management
should replace this

> In the past, we used to have a utility on CloudStack by the name "cloud-sccs" which would
display the commit ID of the code. Due to https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-329
, this Utility got removed. Currently, I do not know of any mechanism using which I can uniquely
differentiate a particular version of code in a build,
