    I believe the documentation explaining the class can help a little bit.
    
    About the use of mocks, unit tests are java code; technically they can do everything that
we can do on any other java code. The question here is a more philosophical one; as the name
says, we should be dealing with units and not whole components. I believe that we do not need
to test if the resource/code that our system is based on works, we have to assume they do.
For instance here, we do not need to check if the socket library Works, we have to assume
it does. We only need to test if our code is using them right, configuring them in a way that
suffices our needs. 
    
    I believe you did this whole test because the code is not prepared to be tested using
unit test and integration tests (integration tests are used to test the integration/orchestration
of unit methods).
