Subject RE: restartNetwork with cleanup=false in Shared Networks
Date Tue, 26 Feb 2013 01:43:41 GMT
If cleanup = false, no clean up of existing rules happens at backend but expected behavior
is that all pf/lb/staticnat rules get reapplied and all network elements get re-implemented.

Yes Prachi. I see this behavior when I attempt restartNetwork with cleanup = true.
When I do restartNetwork with cleanup = false , I don't see anything being reprogrammed in
the router.

-Thanks

I see that restartNetwork with cleanup = true, attempts a network shutdown first (where all
rules are revoked and all network elements are shutdown) and then everything is reprogrammed
using the information in the db.
This design is irrespective of the type of the network.

Subject: restartNetwork with cleanup=false in Shared Networks

Hi,

Wanted to know what should restartNetwork with cleanup=false in Shared Networks do ?

When I do a restartNetwork with cleanup=true , I see the router being destroyed and recreated.

When I do a restartNetwork with cleanup=false, I don't see any reprogramming of routers happen.
What should be the expected behavior ?
In my case I am using the default shared network where I have dhcp and dns service being provided
by VR.
