Jessica, yes let's document what Edison suggests.
For fresh installation we need to copy vhd-util before starting or setting up the management
server. For upgrade we can copy it just after upgrade and then restart management server.
For your reference,

David, I like to document on wikis as it become the source of latest information amidst frequent
changes. I don't know if we should ditch the guides, may be not a good idea, but people may
have a tendency to use an online resource where one could get latest information right away,
for which wiki serves a purpose, than download bunch of pdfs.
Documenting and releasing guides are definitely nice way to bundle them with a release but
this only works for people who will use either the opensource ACS release etc. and works for

About 2., this makes things very tricky. May be we can document how one can build their own
packages (
and as that bundles, they can use Also, since ASF won't do any official
