Subject [jira] Closed: (CLK-296) The Global Format Object Is Not Used To Format Table Columns
Date Sun, 26 Apr 2009 23:24:30 GMT

Malcolm Edgar closed CLK-296.

    Resolution: Won't Fix

The Column provides a property for setting the Java Message format to be used for formatting
values. Beyond that controls can access the Format object from their parent Page.

> The framework defines, and allows user customization, of a Format object. However, this
format object is not used everywhere it should be. In particular, it is not being used to
format table column values (e.g. dates). Ideally, the format object would be used to format
all type for which there is a conversion method defined in the format object class (a method
matching a template signature). As things stand, you have to use individual column Decorators
if you want to change the default formatting of column values. This is a pain.
