Joseph Schmidt commented on CLK-386:
------------------------------------

> gave up using LiveGrid because it's just too complicated to extract for that example
the required "reusable" code.
Exactly, me too :(.

> That example also is looking very "hardcoded" to that single use case.
It is clear that a "live grid" is required in many applications (where paging would be cumbersome).
Since the openrico code looks so complicated (and quite abandoned), maybe it would be a better
idea to use some other live grid implementeation, e.g. a jQuery based one:
http://makoomba.altervista.org/grid/

That code is also old, but it looks at least simpler/smaller than the rico one (see the "grid
plugin source" link at the bottom of the table).

> LiveGrid should be a reusable Click Control.

> Make out of the actual LiveGrid example a "complete" and reusable Control (by the users),
like all the others from click extras (maybe with an API similar to the Table Control).
> The actual example is good, but it's just to hard for the users to make a similar one
for their applications: a reusable control could solve this problem and make Click even more
efficient.
