The list command check may be a scalability problem for the namenode with many collectors/agents.
 When there are thousands of Agents issuing size check, this will periodically spike the namenode.
 I think you will want to avoid this.

Jerome is more familiar with localWriter, and it seems quota feature is already committed.
 Perhaps you could try localWriter instead of SeqFileWriter?
