thanks a lot for your inquiry.

jens' comment about the opencmis contribution bringing a quite a large
change to the chemistry project is definitely very true and it is also
true that we never found ourselves in position where cmis played
enough of a role to adapt the code, which explains why the code was
left the way it was... the flipside, i agree that it would be a very valuable addition
and we are indeed currently working on exposing cmis on top of jcr (
again ;) ) using the new chemistry codebase, but i am not sure what we
had plans to develop that as part of chemistry, but i think it would
definitely be very useful.
i will check internally and get back...
