Yes, but this is a separate code from the cayenne runtime now. In 3.1 there is a module called
"cayenne-project" :

(better to build manually from trunk, this module is not published to the Maven repo in M2,
but will be in M3).

IIRC in 3.0 this task was performed by ConfigSaver + RuntimeSaveDelegate:

These are gone in 3.1
