I can reproduce this and I can see why that happens (it requires a plugin that is built as
a part of install). This works though, as it installs a plugin before cleaning the failing
module:

  mvn clean install

> mvn clean install -Passembly,generic

Just committed a fix. Should be working now.

Also noticed a nasty thing with our CI, which predates the current refactoring. E.g. here
is a Derby build from Nov 3:

https://builds.apache.org/job/Cayenne-trunk/956/cayenneTestConnection=derby,jdk=JDK%201.6%20%28latest%29,label=Ubuntu/consoleFull

INFO: Invalid connection key 'derby', trying default: internal_embedded_datasource
Nov 3, 2013 5:48:28 PM org.apache.cayenne.unit.di.server.ServerCaseDataSourceInfoProvider
get
INFO: loaded connection info: [org.apache.cayenne.conn.DataSourceInfo:
   user name: sa
   password: **********
   driver: org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver
   db adapter class: org.apache.cayenne.dba.hsqldb.HSQLDBAdapter
   url: jdbc:hsqldb:mem:aname

As you see, Derby (and H2) profiles were all running against HSQLDB, so were were not testing
those DBs. I committed a fix (r1542759) to use hardcoded connection info for these in-memory
databases, when it is missing in connection info. But there’s plenty of tests that fail.
Something to work on next.
