in the Cassandra wiki, I found this "
ColumnFamilyStoreMBean exposes sstable space used as getLiveDiskSpaceUsed
(only includes size of non-obsolete files) and getTotalDiskSpaceUsed
(includes everything)."
maybe this is the answer.
