I just tried to reproduce this with ruby1.9 on mac os x (i don't have
access to a freebsd machine) and couldn't reproduce the bug.

It seems that some error is happening, which causes disconnect! to be
called (which removes servers from  @live_server_list). If you can
figure out when disconnect! is being called, that should help us
figure out what's happening.
