Subject [jira] [Created] (CASSANDRA-13912) Avoid doing read repairs on repaired data
Date Wed, 27 Sep 2017 11:37:00 GMT
Stefan Podkowinski created CASSANDRA-13912:
----------------------------------------------

Summary: Avoid doing read repairs on repaired data
                 Key: CASSANDRA-13912
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CASSANDRA-13912
             Project: Cassandra
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: Stefan Podkowinski

While thinking about [~slebresne]'s proposal in CASSANDRA-13910, I found myself wondering
if we shouldn't also change the read repair behaviour to never work on data that already has
been repaired by anti-entropy repair before. Any mismatches on already repaired data could
as well be caused by a bug (see CASSANDRA-13004) and writing the data back again will probably
do more harm than good.
