2.2.9 is closed, the next 2.2 release is 2.2.10.  The 2.2.x series is generally accepting only critical fixes, but this patch is so trivial and safe to backport that I think we can make an exception. The patch only fixes the compaction stats, nothing else, no real compaction is actually stuck and fixed by this patch.  [~s_delima] if you still want it in 2.2.10 I can start the tests:
