Ok, back on the machine with a 2 HDD + RAID-0 (wich is not that uncommon): a single flush
takes ~500ms.
Boot time with the patch is 6 seconds with a single flush for the new generation number.
Boot time without that is 22 seconds (and that would be worse if we had views or peers).

I atteched both debug.log which contains detailed timing information.
