Subject [jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-12572) CQL query size bound to 64Kb
Date Wed, 31 Aug 2016 07:43:20 GMT

Sylvain Lebresne commented on CASSANDRA-12572:

bq. Currently, a query is bound to a 64Kb text limit

Could you say where you found that limit? Did you actually tried a query bigger than this
and hit a problem? In which case, can you describe said problem?

Because if we do have a limitation, I'm not sure where it's enforced as the native protocol
should accept up-to 2BG strings and I don't see any other place where we limit that, nor why
we would.

Don't get me wrong though, given that you can always pass values as binary using bind marker,
I can really really see much scenario where you'd end up with a > 64kb text query unless
you're doing something inefficient. But still, if we do have such limit, that's likely unintentional.
