I'm fine committing this to 2.2, 3.0.x, and 3.X when review is complete, so potentially in
a couple/few weeks when 3.8 is (re)scheduled for release. If you're looking for it on older
branches, we're not as strict about our cadence with them but seem to be cutting releases
every 2-3 months thus far. That's going to slow down as less fixes go into the branches, however.
