LCS. Many users initially do _not_ know about how their data model will look like, what amount
of data is ingested and how it is ingested. As [~brandon.williams] said, STCS is a not super-clever
but it works - an it's used in other compaction strategies as well. I mean, it's not a big
deal to configure the CS in a CREATE TABLE statement. TL;DR I'd prefer to stick with STCS
as the default.
