[~brandon.williams] netty 4.0.34.Final was released which has a fix for it. So I think it's
up to you guys now to upgrade :)

you have to comment out -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true from cassandra-env.sh, however this
will not make the native protocol bind on ipv6, only thrift:
