Subject [jira] [Commented] (CASSANDRA-10407) Benchmark and evaluate CASSANDRA-8894 improvements
Date Tue, 27 Oct 2015 12:42:27 GMT

Benedict commented on CASSANDRA-10407:

All of these tests seem to be on compressed random datasets? Certainly the problem of pooling
here is an issue (that Branimir has filed a separated fix for), but a larger issue is that
we cannot obtain any benefit from this patch on this workload, since we can have no effect
on the size of data we read (it's fixed to the compressed data size).

This patch can only really meaningfully help buffered reads of uncompressed data, so that's
probably what we should be benchmarking.

to get proper performance tests before GA.
