I've force pushed a rebased version. The mutation field should have been accessed directly
by the prior accessors; it is now accessed via the method {{mutation()}}. It compiles and
passes CI as far as I can tell - currently dtests are a complete mess on mainline, but the
prior run has approximately the same failing set of tests, and the handful of difference appear
to be ones that have flaked on/off for a while.
